Anyone who has played the game of golf can recall the sense of trepidation they experienced the first time they ever stepped on the tee box.
First, all conversation stops; this is done out of respect for a player’s concentration, but serves as a reminder to the newbie that every pair of eyes now rests on them. You plant your tee, make a quick practice swing, and then take your first glace down the incredibly long stretch of beautiful green grass in front of you. You’ve taken lesions, you’ve hit the range, maybe you’ve even watched an instructional video or two, and now it’s time to put everything you’ve learned into one beautiful swing.
But we all know technique alone isn’t what gets the ball off the tee. Using the right driver can be just as essential. It’s often difficult for a novice golfer, to know what driver is going to be right for them. As for the characteristics of “the best” golf driver, for me the best was the club that allowed me to hit the longest, straightest and most consistent shots. The new square head drivers also are forgiving and will straighten out a bad shot, a very important feature for me!
The characteristics of the best driver falls along two dimensions:
Forgiveness – Some of the new drivers actually correct a bad swing, and my Callaway FTi has definitively straightened out my accidental fades. The Callaway Golf RH FT-i Tour Low CG Driver Stiff Flex 9.5 Degrees giant sweet spot, the size of a silver dollar.
Sweet spot size – To a beginner, the larger the sweet spot, the better the driver. I consistentlyget an additional30-50 yards with Callaway Golf Big Bertha 460. It has a geometrical all-titanium design that sees the head stretched and flattened to touch the dimensional limits set by the R&A and the USGA. This results in a deeper Centre of Gravity location for longer and straighter off-centre shots as well as optimum ball flight and maximum forgiveness.

Always Remember: Golf is like eating; you can’t win it, but you sure can enjoy it!
It was a good Friday for Market America in the press, with Market America's growth, expansion, and successes featured in the Triad Business Journal (article requires a subscription to read beyond first few paragraphs), CBS News-2 (see video below) and NPR radio (requires a podcasting client).
All three center around the news that when others are laying people off, cutting back hours, or closing all together, Market America is hiring at least 50 new employees by the end of 2009, mostly highly skilled and good paying jobs that are centered around Market America's continued online expansion and product development. Once the new hires are complete, these stories point out that Market America will have increased its workforce by 78 percent since 2007. Additionally, the Triad Business Journal reported on MA Global, a site launching in June that will allow Customer Managers to sell products in markets MA does not currently serve such as the UK and Mexico.
Job creation, financial growth, and expansion of features to Customer Managers and customers led Triad Business Journal columnist Justin Catanoso to declare that Market America is "recession proof" and "on a roll" in the CBS News-2 video. It's nice that the media is starting to listen to what JR has been telling us all along!

Hey everyone, I have some exciting news about PureH2O Countertop Water Filters - they are now available in Massachusetts and Wisconsin! For anyone that is not familiar with the water filters, they feature a dual-filter system using a combination of carbon filtration, ion exchange and sub-micron filtration. The first cartridge reduces sediment, tiny microscopic particles, and chlorine taste and odor. The second cartridge features a complex ion exchange process that enhances the mineral balance of water and reduces lead. For nearly $0.10 per gallon (a fraction of the cost of bottled water) you can enjoy crisp, clean refreshing water, right from your kitchen tap.
While Earth Day may be over, the meaning behind it isn't. Filtering your water instead of purchasing bottled water helps to reduce waste in landfills. Do your part to keep the earth clean for this and future generations.
For more information on PureH2O Countertop Water Filters, visit www.marketamerica.com.
*The PureH2O Under-Sink Installation Kit (14031) and the PureH2O Shower Filter (14036) are stillfef not available in Massachusetts or Wisconsin as they are considered plumbing fixtures and require additional approval processes
For women nothing is worse than a bad hair day and yesterday I had an awful hair day. You could be wearing the cutest clothes, have a sparkling white smile but if your hair is not at the top of its game you just don’t feel like yourself. It’s a sad and truthful reality.
But for good hair days the trend this year is volume. But adding volume and control can be tricky so here are a few easy tips that will work on almost any type of hair.
Being a mom is a tough job. All my time is spent doing things for my child, my husband, or other people. I’m always forgetting to take care of myself so this year my #1 New Year’s resolution is to have some personal time, and losing those last few baby pounds is my top priority. Up to this point though, I haven’t had any time to work out and I’m dreading getting into a bathing suit this summer!
Thankfully this morning I was reading the may issue of Baby Talk and found some wonderful workout tips that I plan to try. They are perfect for mothers with infants who have no time for the gym, so I decided to share some of them with you.
1. Front-carrier squats – Stand with your baby in a front carrier, feet just past your shoulders and toes turned slightly out. Inhale and lower your body down to sit in an imaginary chair. Pull your navel in and point your tailbone to the floor. Exhale and return to the start position. Aim for three sets of 12.
2. Stroller lounges – Put your baby on the stroller and face him/her. Put your left foot back behind you and your right foot out in front. Bend your legs until your right thigh is parallel with the floor and your left is almost touching the ground. Blow a kisfefs to your baby or make a silly face to make them laugh. Then slowly return to a standing position. Aim for three sets of 12.
The rest of the workout can be found in the may issue of Baby Talk.
If you like these ideas and are in need of baby carriers, strollers, and other baby gear go to Market America’s Kids & Baby category where you can find all of these products and many more.
Schools all over the nation are teaching the value of conserving and planting trees, recycling, and conserving energy. Which is awesome, but sometimes adults don’t get all the information that the younger members of our family get. So here are a few links to help you educate yourself on your global footprint and the things you can do to help reduce it:
Here you can find GE's Calculator that estimates savings with Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (or CFLs) - CFLs use up to 75% less energy than an incandescent bulb and last 10 times longer! GE’s Calculator estimates that if you replace just 6 traditional 60watt bulbs and 6 traditional 100watt bulbs, you’ll save about $100 per year, and nearly $600 over the life of the bulbs! That’s a positive impact on your wallet and on the environment!
Sears has a livegreener interactive tool that will help you shop by room for green things, give you tips by climate zone, and a special tab for kids! The Environmental Protection Agency has a very government-looking carbon footprint calculator. You can be environmentally conscious by recycling your old electronics with Best Buy’s recycling program. They will accept:
Two items per household per day.
Nearly everything electronic, including TVs, computers, DVD players, monitors, or cell phones.
Best Buy charges $10 for TVs under 32", CRTs, monitors and laptops. But you receive a $10 Best Buy gift card.

Here is a great networking opportunity done by a Customer Manager in the Greensboro, NC area.
HEALTH SYMPOSIUM April 4th, GSO Coliseum We had a great day. There was a steady flow of people sampling our Istonix and learning about the delivery method and what makes our vitamins the best. We had about 150 people sign up for the gift basket and got some great leads. Several people bought product that day and a few people want to schedule health and nutrition talks in their homes. I have attached some pictures of the booth that I took the day before when we set up and then one of on the day of show with some of us at the booth.
Earth Day is fast approaching, April 22. Earth Day means something different to each of us. For some, Earth Day is a day of celebration for the things we enjoy like food and water. For some, Earth Day is a day of enlightenment, a day to reflect and reevaluate our daily activities and make small changes that are more earth friendly. For some, Earth Day is a day of community involvement – a day to join a roadside clean up group, a day to participate in a seminar on green living.
This year, celebrate Earth Day by turning off all of the lights in the house and using candles instead. Turn off the TV and read a book. Take a walk or ride a bike instead of driving somewhere.
With the realization that there are many things we can do to reduce our carbon footprint, many individuals and businesses are making small changes that individually might not seem to be much but collectively can have a profound impact on our planet. Market America has been at the forefront of the green movement from the very beginning with eco-friendly cleaning products like GlobalCare™ that are made with nontoxic, biodegradable, phosphate-free, enzyme based cleaners. Or Snap™, with products made with nontoxic, biodegradable, phosphate free, plant based ingredients. Or PureH2O, which help to reduce waste in landfills generated from plastic water bottles. Or Autoworks™ High Performance Auto Care, fef with products made with nontoxic, biodegradable, phosphate free, plant based ingredients.
Here is a list of “green” products that Market America offers:
Happy Earth Day and remember that there are small things you can do to make a better, more eco-friendly environment. If you’re looking for an Earth Day activity to get your family involved, check out with links to local Earth Day events.
With spring finally here and summer just around the corner you’re going to want to spend more time outside without forgoing the comfort of the inside. Hi Voitel® folks...good morning... I just had the pleasure of speaking with many Voitel supporters and fans at the Northern Regional in Wisconsin. The experience was very insightful. Apparently there are many of you who are looking for bundled Voitel packages and asking for incentives to use multiple telecom services provided by Voitel and Market America. I am listening. We are always looking to improve Voitel and it is always our intention to give our business partners what they want. In the meanwhile, please take a look at the 'Shared Plans' and the recent addition of Blackberry support with Voitel Wireless. We did not offer either of these 6 months ago and I guess I am asking you to see the 'proof is in the pudding'. We are striving to continue to deliver on your suggestions. Voitel is listening and we do hear you so keep talking. Please reach out to me with your suggestions and experiences at VoitelQ&A at Market America.com. Is all the hype about eating breakfast really true? The answer is yes, but specifically a Low-Glycemic breakfast. An article posted in Medpage Today explained the results of a study conducted showing how a low-glycemic index breakfast enhanced the fat burning effects of moderate exercise in sedentary women. It showed that fat oxidation increased significantly during a 60-minute walk when the women consumed low glycemic-index carbohydrates for breakfast.

In a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers found that regular multivitamin use resulted in longer telomeres in women. What are telomeres? Telomeres are a repeating nucleotide sequence at the end of our chromosomes that protects them from degradation. The length of telomeres decreases with every cell division and if too short, can lead to the loss of cellular function and apoptosis (programmed cell death). Evidence suggests that inflammation and oxidative stress can contribute to shorter telomeres. This study found that compared to nonusers, regular multivitamin use was associated with 5.1% longer telomeres on average. This difference corresponds to approximately 9.8 years of age-related telomere loss. The study also found that these results were greatest in users who took a combination multivitamin and antioxidant.
So your meeting is too big for your living room? Here are a few tips that may help you plan your next event.
The initial step in planning a fefmeeting is to understand the meeting purpose and objectives. How many days will your meeting be? And most importantly what is your budget. Understanding these concepts will help you in choosing your venue and setup requirements.
Know your targeted audience (attendees). Will they be driving or flying in for the meeting? Are certain geographic locations convenient for your attendees and are in close proximity to lodging, eateries, shopping etc?
Once you have a good understanding of the items mentioned above its time to start looking for your venue (meeting location).
We suggest that you formulate an Event Specification Sheet. This document will prove to very helpful during your search and can often be sent to prospective meeting sites. Your specification sheet should include information regarding your meeting. It is a good idea to format your sheet based on your meeting agenda listing your audio visual needs, food and beverage requirements, setup and anything else pertinent to your meeting in an organized fashion.
There are many tools available to help you in your venue search, such as the CVB (Convention Services Bureau) in the targeted area; Websites like eevent.com can be very helpful also in beginning your search for a venue.
By the time I was 14, I was dragging a copy of AutoTrader around school every day. I was always looking for the right car for me. There’s just something in those gleaming, sleek, glamorous lines that brings a smile to my face. So, by the time my 16th birthday rolled around, I had located my prize, and dad went with me to pick it up. Winter was in full force as I drove my “new” used car home and did what every car crazy 16 year old does. I admired it, sat in it, looked at it, and sat in it some more.
One cold winter afternoon not long after that, as the sun was settling on the horizon, I decided my car was filthy. It had to be cleaned. Stat! I bundled up, ran outside, hauled the hose and bucket out of storage and poured in the soap. It was cold, but I didn’t mind too much. I sprayed the car down and started washing my new ride. It wasn’t long before I discovered exactly how cold it was as some of my soapy water that had been sitting on the car for a few minutes started to freeze! I washed furiously and managed to get the car clean before the temperature dropped too much. A clean car just looks great!
I’ve had the pleasure of owning at least half a dozen cars since that first car. Each has required a little something different for maintenance, even when we’re talking about keeping it clean. So a couple of weeks ago when it finally got warm enough here in North Carolina to wash my most recent toy, I snatched the opportunity. I’ve tried a lot of leading and professional cleaners over the years, but this was the first time I used Autoworks™ High Performance Auto Care Tire & Wheel Cleaner.
I park under a canopy of pine trees and if you haven’t experienced the irritation that comes with pine sap, let me tell you, it gets everywhere. It’s tough to get off and brake dust sticks to it. In addition to that, my wheels and tires were filthy from driving in a recent snow storm. With that combination, my car washing experience would usually have ended with irritating, seemingly endless scrubbing of stubborn sap and brake dust. With the Autoworks™ High Performance Auto Care Tire & Wheel Cleaner, my wheel cleaning didn’t involve much in the way of scrubbing. I just sprayed Autoworks™ High Performance Auto Care Tire & Wheel Cleaner on my wheels and tires, let it soak for a minute, and wiped my wheels down with a cotton cloth. It was surprisingly easy and my wheels were sparkling in no time!
Even though I consider myself a “car guy,” I think I can safely say that everyone wants to spend less time scrubbing their wheels. So, make sure you visit Market America's Automotive & Tools category and check out all the products available for your vehicle. While you're there, visit the Car Care area and pick up some biodegradable, non-toxic, phosphate-free Autoworks™ High Performance Auto Care Tire & Wheel Cleaner and experience it for yourself!

It has been a few days since I reached out via the blog so I want to let you all know what I am doing. I am recovering from an information overload, 'deer in headlights' daze I wandered into at the CTIA Wireless Convention. The event was amazing and I really don't know where to start. I do however plan to draft a brief blog on some of the new wireless findings in the next couple of weeks but I want to ask now---how do you all feel about WiMax? Do you guys know much about this technology? Send me an email at VoitelQ&A at MarketAmerica.com and share your knowledge and experience. I look forward to hearing from you.

After a long and stressful day last week, I decided to take a capful of Isotonix® L-Tryptophan before heading home for the day. I had never taken it during the day before; I had only used it before bed to help me fall asleep. I was a little nervous that it might make me tired but I decided to risk it. After about 15 minutes, I started to feel calm and in control. My mind felt clear and I was able to focus on what I needed to accomplish for the rest of the day. I didn't get a huge burst of energy but I also did not feel tired or lethargic any longer. Isotonix L-Tryptophan really helped give me a feeling of calm and control and soothed my nerves.
I'm reallyfef glad to know that Isotonix L-Tryptophan helps me during the day and at night! Have you tried it yet? To learn more about Isotonix L-Tryptophan or to buy yours today, click here!

I had the pleasure of listening to the Honorable Al Gore speak about mobility and ‘going green’ this morning. He kept referring to how mobility empowers the individual. This is so true and with some of the new applications coming our way, the sky is the limit as to what is within your control via wireless technology.
Al Gore speaking at CTIA on going green [Image via mocoNews.net]
As a matter of fact, there are mobile operators, like ClearWire, who are building out infrastructure for mobile devices that are still in concept stages and don't even exist yet. There are mobile devices that can do crazy thingfefs like analyze crop data so as to prevent over fertilization with pesticides. We can do this now! There is even Mobile Health Care.
Imagine how empowering you with the ability to manage your health from your mobile phone would be. I am impressed with the evolution of mobility and I am even more impressed that we are only in the infancy phase of global connectivity. I guess there really is no ceiling to what you can imagine.

Hi Voitel® Folks...good morning... I am out here at the CTIA convention learning what new wireless technologies and new applications are coming our way. There is no stopping mobile innovation and progress. You guys have been very responsive to my blogs so I would like to put this question to the field.
What kind of cool things would you like your mobile phone to do?

At Market America, we spend a lot of time educating folks about our products and opportunities. We never resort to the “hard sell”, but instead simply try to connect people to the products and services they already need and want.
But every once in a while, when we encounter a product that ANYONE might need, we tend to shout it from the mountaintop. So here’s a trivia question for you:
Q: What’s one thing that over 40,000,000 Americans need that you, as an UnFranchise® Ofefwner can provide?
A: Health Insurance from maBenefits. Especially in this day and age – in this economic climate – people are losing their jobs, losing their health insurance & losing their benefits. Sadly, it’s a population that’s going to continue to grow before it starts to shrink.
So do your part! Whenever you encounter someone who has been recently laid off, or simply looking for more competitive rates for their health insurance, spread the word about maBenefits. It’s a one-stop shop for anyone seeking affordable, customized health insurance solutions and is licensed in all fifty states. The process even includes a personal Benefits Counselor to make sure you’re getting the coverage you need at the best available rates.
