Most people think that weight loss can be chalked up to simple math. Calories in = calories out. You want to lose weight, then you have to take in less than you are putting out. Unfortunately, simple math isnt always so simple and weight loss actually has many factors that can turn that simple math problem into a complex algebraic equation.
Hormones are one of the many factors affecting weight loss, ghrelin in particular. Ghrelin commonly refered to as the "hunger hormone" is made in the stomach and increases and decreases with meal consumption. In the hypothalamus, ghrelin binds to receptors related to metabolism while also binding to receptors that allow you to enjoy your food. Ghrelin also increases with decreased sleep making it potentially harmful to over worked, stressed out individuals that are already not getting enough time to sleep, eat right and exercise.
Thankfully, there is good news for individuals living the Transitions lifestyle. Obesity research has found that individuals that eat a diet full of high carbohydrate, high fat meals can alter ghrelin levels leading to higher food intake, while consumption of a low glycemic diet has been shown to have the reverse effect, actually helping control satiety and hunger and making weight loss a much simpler problem. While this only takes care of one of the many factors affecting weight loss it is one of the biggest obstacles to losing weight. Hi Market America and potential Voitel® Business Subscribers...
How many Market America business owners would be interested in a Voitel digital phone application for your home office and/or small business office (SoHo)? I am researching a couple of business VoIP options and I need your advice and suggestions.
This is probably a refresher for some of you but just in cfefase---IP PBX solutions offer a variety of call-management features, such as voice-menu systems, call conferencing, click-to-call, call logging and tracking, voice mail and call forwarding. It makes your small business look like a BIG corporation. Please search 'IP PBX Features' on the Internet for a more comprehensive list of all the capabilities.
So one solution I am exploring is a Hosted IP PBX solution that delivers robust IP PBX feature functionality to your SoHo phones. This option requires little to no capital because we 'host' the hardware & software. All you do is supply the IP phones and let us do the rest. This solution is great for businesses who have less than 10 phones and limited IT support.
The 2nd option is a 'premise-based' IP PBX solution. The IP PBX device offers the same 'robust' features but resides on your premise or in your office. IP phones are required for this option as well. This one is great for businesses with more than 10 phones.

With the sun finally coming out the past few days, I’ve been able to get out and take my dog for a walk around the neighborhood. Yesterday while we were out walking, my little Jack Russell Jack caught a glimpse of a boy on a bike and took off running. “Yea, right”, I thought as he stretched out the leash. To my dismay, the retractable leash that I’ve had for 10 years finally saw its last day and there went my dog chasing this poor little boy on his bike. So now, instead of having a nice walk around the neighborhood, I’m running like a mad woman down the street chasing my dog who’s chasing this little boy that’s crying because he thinks my ferocious dog is going to kill him. When I finally caught up to them, Jack is sitting there barking like cujo at the boy’s bike and the boy is in his mom’s arms crying. I apologized profusely and trifefed to tell them that Jack would never hurt anyone and that he just likes to chase anything that moves. Wow, that was one BIG embarrassing moment, but thankfully the mom understood and promised everything would be ok.
So here’s a word to the wise. Don’t think just because your leash looks like it’s in good shape that you’ll be able to control your wild pooch. Play it safe and get a new one so you don’t end up chasing a dog on the run like me.
Anyone who has been to International Convention or World Conference has seen JR's parents, Dick and Tommie Ridinger. Over Memorial Day Weekend, their local paper in New Jersey did a great story on their service to their country during World War II and their experiences during 61 years of marriage. This isn't a story about MA or our products, but is an inspirational story about two members of The Greatest Generation and gives some pointers to all of us on how we should look at life.
A recent article published in the British Journal of Nutrition found that while a gluten-free diet is beneficial for patients suffering from food-related diseases such as Celiac Disease, it is detrimental to gut health and gut-related immune function. A gluten-free diet is often prescribed for patients with gluten-intolerance, wheat allergy or Celiac Disease to reduce the chance of an allergic reaction. This includes the exclusion of wheat, rye, barley, and oats from the diet. Gluten is a small protein composed of gliadin and glutenin that makes up roughly 80% of the protein content in wheat. In patients with Celiac Disease, exposure to gluten can result in an inappropriate immune response in the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in changes in enterocyte anatomy, poor absorption of critical nutrients and resultant systemic deficiencies, and other intestinal problems.
Researchers at the Microbial Ecophysiology and Nutrition Group in Valencia, Spain found that a gluten free diet resulted in a decrease in beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium longum and an increase in potentially pathogenic bacteria such as Enterobacteriaceae and Escherichia coli. They also found the ability of colonic bacteria to stimulate cytokine production (an immune response) was reduced in patients on a gluten-free diet.

We launched this new Internet offering in St. Augustine this past weekend and quite a few of you took advantage of the event special, which included a free modem.
I mentioned that our Internet Access website would be 'live' by the end of the week and that you would be able to go to www.voitelinternetaccess.com and enter your phone number to check for availability and/or review our footprint for coverage. We are still finalizing the funtionality of our website so please keep checking back.
We are also making changes to the ma portal so that finding Voitel solutions is more intuitive. Simply go to your ma portal, click on the 'Telecommunications' category and then choose Digital Home Phone Service, Wireless Service and/or Internet Access. Look for this to be 'live' by the 1st of next week.

I think it is important to keep all of you apprised as to the success of Voitel. Voitel is doing very well this year. Our wireless division has seen a steady increase in our user base with every passing Market America Event. We are consistently trending up in the wireless arena and our home phone service is performing just as well.
Despite our positive growth patterns, we are discovering some challenges Voitel has experienced in the past. We are working very diligently at overcoming these challenges and I just want to ask everyone to please keep checking back on the ma blog for updates as to our progress.
