One of the reasons that entrepreneurs turn to the UnFranchise® Business System is to find time freedom – but this weekend you’ll be losing time – no matter how hard you work! That’s right, we’ll be losing an hour this weekend for daylight savings, as we “Spring Forward.”
Have you ever wanted to know more about daylight savings time? – the social media team put together these fun facts about the history of Daylight Savings:
- The concept of daylight savings was first mentioned by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 in an essay “An Economic Project.”
- Franklin’s idea was first advocated by a builder in London named William Willett in his 1907 pamphlet “Waste of Daylight.”
- Most of the US begins Daylight Savings Time at 2:00am (local time) on the 2nd Sunday in March, and reverts back to standard time on the first Sunday in November
- Clocks are moved forward one hour during Daylight Savings Time, essentially moving that hour of daylight from the morning to the evening.
