Easy Ways to Save and Go Green This Earth Day…

We all have a lot going on in our lives.  Yet we all are a part of the big picture when it comes to the environmental issues.  Everyday is Earth Day, and the focus on our environment is important everyday.  To help you “get your green on,” here are a few easy ways to save money and be environmentally friendly at the same time:

Drink from the tap safely.  Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour.  Only 20% of plastic bottles make it to recycling plants.  Bottled water is less regulated than city water and is costly when you consider an average family of four drinks approximately 367 gallons of water annually.  Remember, either YOU are a water filter or you have one.  Using a filtered water system eliminates the waste from plastic water bottles and reduces chlorine taste and odor, and other contaminants that can be found in your tap water.
